Theophilos
Michael O'Brien
According to his Gospel, St. Luke spoke to a man named Theophilos. No one is sure who he was. In his book, O’Brien imagines him to be St. Luke’s adoptive father, a Greek physician and an agnostic. Concerned that Luke is succumbing to the influence of the controversial Jesus of Nazareth, Theophilos embarks on a journey to find him and bring him home. It is a story about ancient civilizations, good and evil, the mysterious interaction of faith and reason and the power of love over death.
